Meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Consular, Parliamentary, and Expatriates' Affairs

On February 28, 2025, at the MFA of Turkmenistan, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Consular, Parliamentary, and Expatriates’ Affairs Vahid Jalalzade.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on issues of bilateral partnership in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, and international and regional issues were also touched upon.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for further strengthening of the fruitful partnership, identifying the trade and economic sphere as one of the key vectors.

The interlocutors also noted the successful holding of the 17th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Consular, Border and Customs Issues.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their common confidence that the interaction between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran will develop in a positive way, and joint work will contribute to strengthening the partnership between the two countries, cultural and historical ties between the peoples of both countries.
