Working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar

On March 16, 2025, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov met with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.

At the beginning of the meeting, the sides discussed the expansion of bilateral relations in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Emphasizing the development of bilateral cooperation, stable and trustful political dialogue, the Ministers noted that the meetings of the Heads of two states give great impetus to the Turkmen-Qatari relations.

During the conversation, the sides also emphasized that energy, investment and transport spheres should become promising areas of Turkmen-Qatari relations.

In addition, the sides had a detailed exchange of views on regional security and development priorities, as well as the socio-economic situation in Afghanistan.

In particular, the progress of construction works on the Serhetabat-Herat section in Afghanistan, which is an important stage in the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline project, was discussed. The Qatari side highly appraised the cooperation in this sphere.

The parties also noted the constructive cooperation in the framework of international organizations.

In this regard, it was noted that our country will host a representative forum on December 12, 2025, as part of the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this regard, the Qatari side was invited to participate in the high-level forum.
