On 22 April 2025, the forum “OSCE – 50 Years of Commitments on Comprehensive Security towards Peace and Trust”, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the OSCE and the International Year of Peace and Trust, proclaimed at the initiative of Turkmenistan by a special resolution of the UN General Assembly was held at the Yildiz Hotel in Ashgabat. The event was organized by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The forum was attended by representatives of government agencies, universities and public organizations of Turkmenistan, heads and employees of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, as well as media representatives.

The speakers noted that it is no coincidence that the forum dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act is being held in the context of the International Year of Peace and Trust. This is a highly symbolic event that allows us to look at the historical path of the OSCE through the prism of modern efforts to promote peace diplomacy and interstate relations based on trust.

The OSCE priorities for 2025 were also highlighted in the forum as well as national institutions and diplomatic missions raised awareness about Turkmenistan's cooperation with the OSCE.

As it was noted, Turkmenistan's foreign policy in synergy with the OSCE principles and commitments has made a significant contribution to promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, trust and peace strengthening.
