A round table dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th Anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan was held in Tbilisi

On April 24, 2025, a round table on the topic: “The 30th Anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan: Сooperation for Peace and Trust” was held in the Magtymguly Fragi Auditorium of Sukhumi State University, dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th Anniversary of Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.

The round table was attended by the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Chairman of the Committee of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on Social Policy, Chairman of the Turkmen-Georgian Interparliamentary Friendship Group A.Sarjaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan K.Sabiashvili, representatives of the Parliament of Georgia, the faculty of the University, as well as representatives of the media.

The speakers emphasized the high level of Turkmen-Georgian relations in a wide range of areas, and reviewed the current state and prospects of cooperation, which is successfully developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats.

It was noted that, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, which became a clear expression of recognition of the country’s foreign policy aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development.

The participants of the round table emphasized that Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality not only meets the national interests of the country, but is also an effective instrument of peacekeeping, strengthening security and stability in the regional and global dimensions.
