The meeting of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place

On August 22, 2025, a meeting was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit to participate in the trilateral summit meeting "Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan".
At the Congress Center, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov warmly welcomed the distinguished guest. According to the established good tradition, Hero-Arkadag and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took pictures against the backdrop of the State flags of the two countries.

Stressing that the current trilateral summit meeting “Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan” will become one of the important historical events of this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the results of the trilateral summit meeting will be of great importance not only for the participating countries, but also for the entire region as a whole.
The distinguished guest once again warmly congratulated the leadership of Turkmenistan and the fraternal Turkmen people on the recent successful holding of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
In conclusion, the Uzbek leader once again expressed gratitude for the warm welcome provided on Turkmen soil, expressing confidence in the fruitfulness of the meetings.
The negotiations then continued in an expanded format with the participation of delegations from both countries.
Having expressed gratitude for the accepted invitation and the visit to Turkmenistan, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted the importance of these meetings, to ensure the effectiveness of which joint efforts have been made.
“During today’s negotiations, we will discuss issues related to the further strengthening of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation, and also determine promising vectors for its development,” the National Leader of the Turkmen people continued.
As noted, trade and economic relations between the two countries are developing steadily, with the volume and range of trade growing annually. Cooperation in the areas of energy, transport and logistics, trade, agriculture, etc. is active.
In addition, effective interaction is carried out between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
The common historical, cultural and spiritual-moral values of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples serve as a solid foundation for strengthening and expanding interstate cooperation in the fields of science, education, culture and art.
In this regard, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that representatives of the socio-cultural sphere of both countries regularly take part in national and international events held in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and exchange experiences.
Having once again emphasized that he was glad to see the Uzbek leader in sunny Turkmenistan, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty gave the floor to the distinguished guest.
