The President of Turkmenistan and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan discussed bilateral cooperation
On December 11, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in large-scale celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
Warmly welcoming the Uzbek leader, the head of state thanked him for accepting the invitation to the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality. It was emphasized that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's participation in this prestigious Forum demonstrates Uzbekistan's support for our country's neutral policy and its special attention to cooperation with Turkmenistan.
Expressing gratitude for the hospitality, the head of the friendly state noted that hosting this Forum in Turkmenistan confirms its commitment to strengthening regional and global peace, as well as the exemplary nature of Turkmen neutrality. Taking the opportunity, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
Thanking for the kind words, the head of state emphasized that the International Year of Peace and Trust marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN and the 30th anniversary of our country's permanent neutrality.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted the significance of his recent state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan as a key step in deepening bilateral relations. The visit's results opened new horizons for further expansion of the interstate partnership. In this regard, the head of Turkmenistan once again thanked President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for awarding him the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the “Oliý Darajali Dustlik” Order.
Continuing the meeting, touching on the topic of trade and economic cooperation, the interlocutors noted that work is underway to increase mutual trade turnover, implement joint investment projects and develop interregional ties and industrial cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev exchanged best wishes and expressed confidence in the continued successful development of good-neighborly interstate relations in the interests of the peoples of both countries.
