President of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On May 22, 2026, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the successive meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government.
Expressing sincere gratitude for the hospitality extended to the Kazakh delegation, the guest noted that Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are united not simply by good-neighborly relations, but also by the bonds of true brotherhood and partnership.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the President of Turkmenistan and Hero Arkadag.
Addressing best wishes to the head of Kazakhstan, the President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan for accepting the invitation to visit Turkmenistan, emphasizing that his participation in the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government confirms the commitment of the Republic of Kazakhstan to further strengthening multilateral cooperation within the CIS.
The head of state expressed his firm confidence that the decisions adopted following at the meeting will contribute to strengthening practical cooperation between the Commonwealth Member States, and that the current visit will further enhance the friendly ties between the two countries.
It was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to further expanding interstate relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan, based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and support.
Turkmenistan actively cooperates with the Republic of Kazakhstan in foreign policy, particularly within reputable international organizations such as the UN, OSCE, CIS, and ECO. Furthermore, the two countries successfully coordinate their efforts within regional mechanisms, including the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the “Central Asia +” partnership format.
The President of Turkmenistan highlighted his fond memories of his participation in the Regional Environmental Summit “RES2026 EXPO”, held in Astana on April 22, 2026, which became a significant event in the development of interstate cooperation. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed the readiness of Turkmenistan for further comprehensive cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that Turkmen-Kazakh relations will continue to develop for the benefit of two peoples.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov wished each other good health, happiness, and success in their responsible government duties, as well as further progress and prosperity to the fraternal peoples of two countries.
