On 27 September 2024, the annual international forum UN World Tourism Day opened in Georgia.

The event is attended by high-ranking guests from many countries, tourism ministers, representatives of international organizations and tourism professionals. The Turkmen delegation headed by the head of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan is also taking part in the forum.

“Tourism and Peace” is the main theme of this year's World Tourism Day. The event features panel discussions, debating global tourism trends and the importance of peace in terms of the industry's development.

As noted, tourism can play a vital role as a catalyst for fostering peace and understanding between nations and cultures and in supporting reconciliation processes.
