The National Leader of Turkmen People, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty met with the delegation of UAE
On 25 November 2024, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei, as well as the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet, the guests conveyed to the National Leader of Turkmen people greetings of the President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Presidential Court Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Greeting the representatives of the UAE, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty addressed his best wishes to the highest leadership of the friendly state. The National Leader of Turkmen people expressed confidence that the current visit of the delegation of the brotherly country will contribute to strengthening the traditional dialogue and expanding opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
It was noted that Turkmenistan carries out long-term and multifaceted cooperation with the UAE. Interstate ties are characterized by a high level of mutual understanding and close interaction. The two countries successfully collaborate in the bilateral format, as well as within the UN and other international organizations, providing mutual support to initiatives on contemporary issues of international agenda.
At the same time, it was emphasized that the United Arab Emirates are important trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan. The countries successfully cooperate in the fuel and energy, transport and communications, as well as financial sectors. In this context, the great contribution of the leading companies of the UAE to the development of Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy complex, as well as the long-standing experience of partnership in this direction were noted.
It was highlighted that during the visit of the National Leader of Turkmen people to the UAE in February last year, the State Concern “Turkmengas” and the company “ADNOC’” signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of energy.
In addition, the Chairman of Halk Maslahaty congratulated the representatives of the UAE on successfully hosting the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
During the meeting, the Chairman of Halk Maslahaty noted that the gas chemical products of Turkmenistan, which holds leading positions in the world in terms of hydrocarbon resources, are highly demanded in the world market, and recently a feasible inflow of natural gas with a daily production rate of 2 million cubic meters was obtained at the “Galkynysh” gas field.
Speaking about the great interest of the states of the region in importing Turkmen gas according to “SWAP” scheme, the National Leader of Turkmen people emphasized the importance of the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline project.
Highlighting that a favorable investment climate has been established in Turkmenistan and a suitable legal framework has been formed in this regard, the guests reaffirmed their readiness to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the representatives of UAE exchanged best wishes and expressed confidence that the bilateral relations will continue to develop for the benefit of the fraternal peoples of two countries.
