Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Turkmenistan completes diplomatic mission in Ashgabat
On July 31, 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Turkmenistan Apirat Sugondhabhirom (with residence in Ankara), who is completing his diplomatic mission in Ashgabat.
At the meeting, the sides appraised the current level of development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Thailand in the political, trade-economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The issues related to strengthening the legal framework for cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
The diplomats noted the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, in particular the UN. The Turkmen side emphasized Thailand’s contribution to the preparation for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, scheduled to be held in the coming days in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”.
In addition, the sides exchanged views on the prospects for developing Turkmen-Thai ties in the cultural and humanitarian areas. The Thai side expressed interest in establishing cooperation between universities of the two countries.
The Turkmen side expressed gratitude to Ambassador Apirat Sugondhabhirom for his active contribution to the development of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Thailand.
