Prospects for cooperation between the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and UNICEF were discussed

On January 24, 2026, Vice President for Medical Activities of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Oguljahan Atabayeva met with Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna. The sides discussed issues related to further strengthening the long-standing effective dialogue in the interests of the country's young citizens.

After exchanging greetings, the interlocutors noted that caring for the well-being and health of the younger generation is a priority area of state policy, implemented under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and thanks to the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the activities of the Charity Fund. As emphasized, the Fund is carrying out large-scale work to provide children in need of care with highly qualified medical care and social support.

The representative of the United Nations Children's Fund noted that the initiatives of the Turkmen state in the field of maternal and child health are fully in line with the global Sustainable Development Goals and expressed interest in deepening relations with the Charity Fund. As emphasized, Turkmenistan's accumulated experience in this area has deservedly received wide international recognition.

One of the key issues discussed was the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between UNICEF in Turkmenistan and the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The sides noted that the Memorandum opens up new horizons for coordinating joint actions, confirming their readiness to implement this agreement, which aims to create the most favorable conditions for a happy life for the younger generation.

Important aspects of the implementation of joint projects were also discussed at the meeting. During the discussion of plans for the future, the sides confirmed their intention to continue close dialogue on a wide range of areas of humanitarian cooperation.

The UNICEF Representative noted Turkmenistan's responsible approach to fulfilling its international obligations in the field of child rights protection, considering the activities of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as an important tool for the practical implementation of state guarantees in this area.

At the end of the meeting, Vice President for Medical Activities of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Oguljahan Atabayeva and Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna expressed their confidence in the further development of the partnership.
