A telephone conversation was held between the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan

On March 7, 2026, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov. The parties discussed the current state in the Near and Middle East.

It was emphasized that all complicated international issues should be resolved only through peaceful, political-diplomatic means and methods based on international law.

At the same time, in the context of recent air attacks on the territory of Azerbaijan, the unacceptability of violating the fundamental principle of the UN Charter, which is the respect for the sovereignty of states, was emphasized.

The Foreign Ministers exchanged views on specific humanitarian issues related to the situation in the region.
