Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed priority subject of Turkmen – Uzbek cooperation during telephone conversation

Telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Interim President of Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev have been held. 

Having warmly greeted each other, the sides highlighted high level of interstate dialog based on solid foundation of friendship, good neighbourhood and mutual support, principles of equal cooperation. 

Taking the opportunity, the Interim President of Republic of Uzbekistan cordially congratulated the Leader of the Nation and all people of Turkmenistan on the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the country, having wished new successes in large-scale transformations, which called forth steadfast progress of the state and ever-growing international authority. 

Having thanked for wishes and congratulations, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan pays great attention to consolidation of traditionally friendly relations with fraternal Uzbekistan, which our country sees as a true friend and reliable partner. 

During the conversation, the Head of the State and the Interim President of Republic of Uzbekistan discussed priority issues of Turkmen – Uzbek cooperation, having confirmed invariable intention of the sides to continue developing fruitful relations in all spectrum. Having stated the constructive character of interstate political dialog, the sides also noted the presence of considerable potential for consolidation of trade and economic partnership, stimulation of productive contacts in different fields. 

Speaking of important role of cooperation in humanitarian sphere as integral component of Turkmen – Uzbek relations, the President of Turkmenistan and the Interim President of republic of Uzbekistan highlighted that the people of both countries are tied by the common history, culture, spiritual values and centuries-old traditions, which are being filled with new content in modern age. 

The sides also shared the visions on number of urgent aspects of international range of problems, having stated with delight the coincidence of approaches and positions of the sides on key issues of regional and global agenda, first of all, relating to provision universal peace, security and wellbeing. 

During the conversation, leader of the Nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited Interim president of Republic of Uzbekistan to visit Turkmenistan. The invitation was gratefully accepted. Time for the visit will be coordinated through diplomatic channels. 

In the end of the conversation, the sides expressed the confidence in further successful development of Turkmen – Uzbek cooperation, having addressed best wishes to fraternal people of two neighbouring states.
