TURKMENISTAN AND THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE ON DRUGS AND CRIME HAS HELD AN ONLINE REVIEW MEETING ON DEVELOPING THE PRACTICAL MEASURES FOR FURTHER COOPERATION

On the 14th of July 2021 the videoconference review meeting was held on the topic of developing the practical measures for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for the period of 2019-2020.

The meeting was attended by the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Representative for Central Asia Ms.Ashita Mittal, the Head of the Program Office of UNODC in Kazakhstan Mr.Naveed Riaz, CARICC Coordinator, and coordinators of the regional and international programs as well.

 The Turkmen side was represented by Vepa Hajiyev, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The delegation included representatives of law enforcement agencies, Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.

The Head of the Turkmen delegation has noted that Turkmenistan successfully realizes precautionary measures in the format of educational activities, the National Program on the counteraction on human trafficking for the period of 2020-2022. Given this context, the Turkmen side has offered to develop a roadmap for the next period, in which the focus will be made on digitalization and promotion of the human potentials in all spheres of cooperation.

It should be noted that cooperation with the UNODC on the grounds of Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre is on the priority. Currently Turkmenistan takes active measures on the acceptance of the chairmanship of the abovementioned organization.
