Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held briefing dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality and the 10th Anniversary of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

On December30, 2017, a briefing dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality and the 10th anniversary of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia

The briefing was attended by the Drector of the CIS department of the I. Javakhishvili STU, the honored journalist of Georgia, political scientist Mr. B.Nachkebia, Deputy Editor–in-Chief of a newspaper ”Resonance” Mr. A.Gvimradze, Editor of the international magazine “Geo Traveler” Mr. N. Iloshvili, General Director of “Georgian Business Week” Mr. V.Miroshnichenko, Editor of a newspaper “Свободная Грузия” Ms. M.Muradova, Director of the Center of Research for the Study of Georgian Complex Development issues, Dr.Professor of Political Sciences Mr. L.Metreveli, Deputy Director of the Center of Research for the Study of Georgian Complex Development issues, Mr. N.Metreveli and others representatives of Georgian media.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Georgia D. Muratov noted in his speech that on 2nd February, 2017 during the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, a Resolution proclaiming December 12 as the International Day of Neutrality was adopted. The adoption of this resolution indicates the high prestige of neutral Turkmenistan on the world stage and the universal recognition of its contribution to global peace, security and sustainable development.

 It was noted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the headquarters of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia in Ashgabat established by the initiative of President of Turkmenistan.  Neutrality and preventive diplomacy on the example of Turkmenistan's activities today demonstrate the indissoluble unity of the fundamental foundations in the solution of urgent tasks to preserve and strengthen universal peace, stability and security.

At the end of the briefing, representatives of the Georgian media  expressed their gratitude to the Embassy of Turkmenistan and personally to the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Georgia D.Muratov for organizing and conducting the briefing and noted that the policy of neutrality implemented by Turkmenistan clearly demonstrates its relevance in the modern age, opening new prospects and opportunities for comprehensive progress, strengthening and expanding fruitful international cooperation.
