Turkmen delegation headed by the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan is on a working visit to Georgia
On 29-30 November 2023, a Turkmen delegation headed by the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan was on a working visit to Georgia.
As part of the visit, a bilateral meeting was organised between Ombudsman of Turkmenistan Yazdursun Gurbannazarova and the Public Defender (Ombudsman) of Georgia Levan Iosseliani.
The sides paid special attention to the possibilities of exchanging experience within the framework of bilateral co-operation, as well as improving the efficiency of the National Human Rights Body. They discussed important issues of co-operation between the two countries and the co-operation agenda for the near future.
Then Mrs E.Gudushuri, Deputy Public Defender’s Office, gave a detailed overview of the activities of the central agency, its constituent subdivisions and regional departments.
The Turkmen delegation also held bilateral meetings with the heads of the Special Investigation Service of Georgia, the Centre for Human Rights and other relevant institutions.
In particular, the participants of the meeting exchanged views on important areas of protection and promotion of human rights and freedoms.
