INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE TITLED:”25 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE OF TURKMENISTAN AND GEORGIA: THE ROAD OF PROGRESS, PEACE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” HELD IN TBILISI.

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan and Georgia and announcement of 2016 in Turkmenistan as the “Year of honoring the heritage and transforming the Motherland”, an international scientific conference titled:”25 Years of Independence of Turkmenistan and Georgia: the road of progress, peace and sustainable development” was held on 17th of June, 2016 at the Georgian Technical University.

 

The conference was jointly organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia and the Georgian Technical University. The conference was attended by the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Georgia, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, as well as students and faculty of the Georgian Technical University and vice-rector of the International University for Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan.

Before the conference, an exhibition of Turkmen arts and crafts, carpets, national clothing, jewelry and printed products has been organized.

The video about Turkmenistan, its achievements during past 25 years were shown at the beginning of the conference.

Rector of Georgian Technical University, doctor of technical sciences, full professor Mr.A.Prangishvili, Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Georgia Mr. D. Muratov, vice-rector of the International University for Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan Mr.K.Kertiyev, vice-rector of Georgian Technical University Mr.L.Klimiashvili and Head of the Department of the Relations with Neighboring Countries and Regions of the MFA of Georgia Mr.M.Radiani made welcoming speeches.

Speakers emphasized the historical significance of Independence Day, noted the success and achievements of Turkmenistan and Georgia during the years of independent development, as well as fruitful cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia in political, trade-economic, humanitarian and social spheres. They expressed confidence that this joint international scientific conference will further enhance the creative cooperation of cultural and art workers, as well as expansion of contacts in the scientific and educational spheres.

After the conference, a concert was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia together with the GTU students dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan and Georgia.
