In the International Year of Peace and Trust, which also marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality, the autumn issue of “Foreign Business in Georgia” magazine presented its readers with a series of articles dedicated to Turkmenistan.

The magazine opens with the address delivered by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly. In his speech, the President underscored the importance of coordinated action by states and international organizations to safeguard peace and security, promote sustainable development, and preserve the legal foundations established in the architecture of the contemporary international order.

It is significant that this year the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality coincides with the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. A key dimension of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN is the safeguarding of international peace and security. Turkmenistan always aligns all international initiatives with the Charter and the fundamental documents of the UN, as well as its long-term objectives.

A separate article entitled “Turkmenistan and Georgia: Cooperation in the name of peace, and commitment to the traditional bonds of friendship”  is devoted to Turkmen-Georgian interaction, founded on friendship, mutual respect, trust, and a commitment to strengthening interstate dialogue.

The publication presents materials highlighting key aspects of interaction between the two countries in the political-diplomatic, economic, and cultural-educational spheres. It comprehensively reflects the dynamics of Turkmen-Georgian relations and the role of high-level visits, underscores the potential for expanding the partnership agenda at both regional and international levels.

The magazine features materials reflecting the meeting between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, which took place during his official visit to Turkmenistan in March this year. The negotiations contributed to the expansion of fruitful interstate relations and enriched them with new meaning. A number of documents were signed following the negotiations.

The article also presents materials on the meeting of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze held in August this year in the Avaza National Tourist Zone as part of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. It was noted that holding such a large-scale Forum on Turkmen soil is a testament to Turkmenistan’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The magazine also provided its readers with materials concerning the participation of the Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov in the 5th Tbilisi Silk Road Forum. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches special importance to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the strengthening of global economic, transport and energy interconnections, and considers it expedient to join efforts in creating an international platform for the protection of the ecosystems of the Caspian and Black Seas.

The publications presented by the magazine provide a wide readership with the opportunity to learn more about Turkmenistan, as well as the dynamically developing Turkmen-Georgian partnership, which serves to strengthen the friendship and prosperity of the two nations.
