A meeting was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan on preparations for the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS

On 26 March 2026, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan S.Muhammetdurdyyev and a delegation of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), during which the sides discussed preparations for the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government scheduled for May 22, 2026, in Ashgabat.

During the meeting, the Turkmen side emphasized that it attaches priority importance to the upcoming meeting, viewing it as an important platform for further strengthening multilateral partnership within the Commonwealth.

The sides discussed in detail the agenda and the organizational and protocol aspects of the preparations for the upcoming meeting within the framework of the draft Protocol on the coordination of issues related to the preparation of the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government.

It was emphasized that, as the state chairing the CIS in 2026, Turkmenistan is taking all necessary measures to ensure proper preparation for and the successful holding of the meeting.
