HIGH-LEVEL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COUNTERING TERRORISM WAS HELD IN MINSK

On October 9, 2018, a high-level international conference called “Preventing and combating terrorism in the digital age”, organized under the auspices of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), took place in Minsk.

This conference was organized and held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus together with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs V.Hajiev took part in the conference.

In total, over 160 experts and specialists from more than 40 countries of the world took part in the conference on countering terrorism in cyberspace. The conference was attended by the heads and representatives of the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee, the Office on Drugs and Crime, Interpol, the Council of Europe, the CIS, the CSTO, as well as OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger.

The conference addressed such issues as strengthening international legal cooperation, implementing the international legal framework to combat terrorism, protecting critical infrastructure from terrorist acts and cyber threats.
