The President of Turkmenistan visits Ahalteke Equestrian Complex

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Ahalteke Equestrian Complex. Recently, the territory of the complex turned into blooming oasis. By the initiative of the Head of the State, National greening programme is carried out in the country. It includes massive plantation of foliar, conifer, fruit and other trees. Woodland park zones are created artound Ashgabat and in the velayats. Green plantations are the living indicator of ecological situation and ecological culture of the society. Man-made woodland zones improve microclimate, support purification and enrichment of the air with the oxygen making living conditions of people more favourable.

Upon arrival to the complex, the Head of the State paid attention to local alabay. There is special meaning that Turkmen alabay Vepaly was chosen as a symbol of 2017 Asian Games. Faithful companion in life of Turkmen people, brave, loyal alabay has always been protecting the family hearths and prosperity, has always been a friend to a man and his defender. This breed became known around the world and received international recognition owing to such merits as fearlessness, braveness, nobility.

The next year of 2018 is the Year of the Dog according to Chinese calendar. This is another reason for us to pay tribute to our excellent alabay that went long historical way together with Turkmen nation and took deserving place in national culture, customs and traditions as a living symbol of reliability, loyalty to the friendship and principles.

It is well-known that the President of Turkmenistan is fond of various sports. While being keen admirer and connoisseur of the horses, the Head of the State regularly find the time in his tight working schedule for horses and the rides.

Having visited his favourites, the Head of the State went to ahalteke horse Melekhan that was presented recently to Turkmen leader by the personnel of agricultural industry during the events dedicated to the Harvest Holiday. Following good tradition, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov put the alaja plaited by his mother Ogulabat-eje on the horse’s neck.

Turkmen leader inspected how Melekhan, which is the successor of the famous Pereng whose name became the legend, is taken care of in the complex. Undoubtedly, from now on, this racer will take deserving place in Turkmen equestrian sport and national horse breeding and will make its contribution in continuation of the pedigree of its famous ancestors.

From the times primordial, the Turkmens have been fostering and cherishing their horses, bringing them to perfectness. They loved their horses with all their hearts and saw them as a symbol of the achievement of entirety educating such beautiful features as courage and commitment both in themselves and in the horses.

At present time, large work aimed at improvement of the glory of ahalteke horses and alabays is carried out. The love of Turkmen people to these beautiful animals, which merits are recognized around the world, is huge. It serves as an evidence that noble traditions of Turkmen people, who was creating national values for the centuries, are carefully preserved and developed today.
